Christmas markets and attractions. The scent of the typical food and drinks of this period.
The decorated city. Lights that illuminate streets and houses.
Gifts for our loved ones. The family gathered together.
A perfect combination of a multitude of features that make this time of the year so special, Christmas is made of situations, sensations and events that perfectly dovetail, as if by magic, and create a unique dimension of fascination and serenity.
And it’s just this combination of events and fascinations that characterizes and makes Christmas in Padua special, as the illustration by Venetian artist Ale Giorgini shows.
Can you see the stars that illuminate the illustration? Do you recognize them? They’re the stars of lights decorations, the lights that make the city bright at Christmas time, but also the stars observed by Galileo and those painted by Giotto in the Scrovegni Chapel.
Padua is a city of stars. At Christmas time even more.
